absolutepsyco Posted April 2, 2015 Share Posted April 2, 2015 I recently replaced the AC idler pulley on my '02 Impreza 2.5 RS. I measured the tension on the belt before I replaced it (it was about 1/4") and tightened it up to about the same. When I run the AC or defrost, it still makes an intermittent whining noise. Can anyone tell me what the tension range should be? Should I just keep tightening it little by little until the whine goes away? Or is this a sign that it's too tight?
