Hey, new to this forum. A friend recommended I join (also a Subie freak). I have a 2006 outback xt and I keep getting cylinder 2 misfire code popping up when I beat the car up. If I'm driving normal it's ok. As soon as I get on it, check engine flashes and cruise control also flashes. At idle it trembles a bit also. I changed all 4 spark plugs (ngk iradium of course) and it's still doing it. Anybody have the same problem

Hi,

Considering it's a high mileage Subaru turbo engine, you'll want to read up on NASIOC about the EJ255 (same as in the in '06-'14 WRX) and over on SubaruOutback.org.

I'd recommend you get a compression and leak down test done, and if you're still on the original turbo, it's probably due for replacement.

Make sure you check you oil EVERY time you fill up until you get this figure out or fixed. It could be burning oil but not blowing smoke.

My money is on the injector.  It's not uncommon for the o-rings to deteriorate on them. In normal conditions, it wouldn't be normal, but could very well be deficient under load.

ps: If you want that engine to last, don't "beat up" on it.  Be uber careful about oil changes and coolant too.  It's a turbo, yes.  But it's not a freaking race car.
