Oil filters...well, the Subaru OEM ones are just Puralator...and they are cheap and decent filters. The PureONE filters are PL14460 and the regular ones are L14460. Sure, use synthetic oil. wrxsubaru Posted May 24, 2004 Share Posted May 24, 2004 I would suggest using Synthetic it may leak a little more but it last longer and has higher resistance to heat. You have to rember the K&n dont seem to fitler that well. Just so many there are many sites that state that this is true, for the very little increase in airflow that K&N's afford they also allow much larger particles to enter the engine. If you have a Cummins Diesel Motor (Ram Truck) it voids the 100,000 mile warranty if you use one. I personally do not think it is worth the cost and larger particles entering the engine, IMO.
