Fogueira Posted June 8, 2015 Share Posted June 8, 2015 I'm stuck in the rebuild of a Hitachi DCP-306-13 carb on a 1981 Brat. I broke the accelerator pump while trying to remove the rubber cap and filter to replace it with the one in the rebuild kit. The accelerator pump on the -13 looks different than what I have seen on all the other models, and I haven't been able to find it anywhere. Does anybody know where I could get an old carb to scavenge one? Or has anyone tried using a different pump with success? I have considered installing a Weber with the stock air filter, but I am in the Bay Area of California and dealing with increasingly stringent smog laws, so I am hesitant to make any significant changes that might cause problems passing smog inspections in the future. I am also trying to avoid shelling out the cash to buy a whole new rebuilt carb that might still be crap. Maybe somebody out there has a great solution I haven't though of?
