Subaru EJ drivetrain swap

Live in the rust belt. Lots of old Subies rusted to the doors with great engines and transmissions, I like Subaru's, love the way they run and handle, but finding a solid one is near impossible.. What I have always wanted is a classic car as a daily driver. I sold my last classic, a '51 Chevy to fund some of my GF's expenses on getting her WRX.. The car was a borderline driver so while I miss it, I don't miss it..

What I would like to do is get something like a '60-'63 Ford Falcon, or even a similar year Nash/AMC Rambler American and put a full EJ drivetrain in it. The EJ22E's run about equal hp to the old 6cyls, and a 5spd with AWD would be killer.. I know that the subframes unbolt and could be re fitted to another unibod9 y or frame easy ( I'm a self tought fabricator ) but I dont know what to do about struts.. Any way to run a conventional A arm on top with springs?

I'm thinking like a '96-'98 Legacy 2.2L. A wrecked WRX would be a dream, but for a driver an EJ22E will do. The cars are about the same size as a Legacy and have simmilar track widths

I would also convert to 5x114.3 to use standard Ford/AMC/Mopar 5 lug wheels
