I have a 94 Legacy LSi. The famed 2.2L non-interference engine. 250K miles and counting. In the last year I have had the struts, inner & outer tie-rod arms, front transaxles (for cv joints) changed out by garages. On my own in the last 6 months, I've replaced radiator, rad coolant hoses, fuel pump, rebuilt my pwr steering pump (buy Subaru OEM only because after-market doesn't include washer between pump & resevoir!), crankshaft sensor, anti-knock sensor, o2 sensor, muffler, water pump (after original equip failure!), timing belt & related idler pulleys, and now working on the fuel pressure regulator. Recently changed (not flushed) ATF fluid in auto tranny and recharged AC. My friends give me a hard time for not buying a new one but it was a Colorado car until 1994 and has virtually no rust on the body & frame. But it's old & had 2 overheatings in the 7 yrs I've had it. Now suffering from excessive fuel consumption, fuel smell under the hood, gas smell to oil and soot on the inside of the tail pipes. Ergo the new fuel pressure regulator. I'm a frequent flyer at the local after-market stores and Subaru dealers parts depts. Will be posting after over a year of crawling this site for awesome info. Thanks for that. Subarus rock. Next one will be a 2010 or greater Outback. But need a few more miles out of my 94 before dropping $14-15K on a gently used new subie.
