RonVee Posted September 22, 2015 Share Posted September 22, 2015 Hi, I have an 1982 Subaru GL Wagon , Dual Speed Hi/Lo 4WD ,standard 4 speed trans. 1.8 L Engine. The driver side rear axle and wheel bearing was replaced around 3 years ago. Out of warantee now. The outer axle-cv joint has play up and down on axle stub (the stub that comes through the bearing and has big nut on outside). I can't find a rear axle assembly here in Shelby Nc area....I have called them all. Still shows numbers on their computers but all say no longer available. Any ideas please? RonVee Posted September 23, 2015 Author Share Posted September 23, 2015 Well actually the axle I had replaced 3 years ago Had a 2 year parts/labor warantee. It's been 3 years so no more warantee. I have checked with all O'Reilly's, Napa's, Autozone, Adavance and some local part stores. Nobody has a place to order them from. Everyone around this area says the part is DIScontinued. I have had this problem around this neck of the woods for along time....that's why after calling all of them I usually wind up here as I am at the end of the line. Subasaurus Posted September 23, 2015 Share Posted September 23, 2015 ask them that you will be willing to pay for shipping from another state for the part, when they look for a part (O'reilly's and Autozone) if the HUB distribution center that belongs to that store doesn't have it, then they just don't have it, unless its shipped from another state but the shipping is on you, they don't advertise this because a competitor might have it at the same price but it will look like NAPA (where you go for your parts) is more expensive once they add up the UPS shipping and the cost of the part and perhaps later in the future you will never go there again because they "ripped you off". so they would rather just tell you they can't order the part. im not sure how NAPA works but thats how Autozone and O'reilly's does it. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

He said you can look up or call just about anyone in Spokane Wa and they will order it to your store. I would Google Spokane Wa or just about any city in the Pacific NW.
