ontariobill
Good evening all, I am a new member to this forum and would like to introduce myself. I am a former mechanic and long distance truck driver who works locally now. My first Subaru was a 1982 GL 1800 with the EA82, next was a 1990 Loyale with 4WD, next was a 99 Legacy GT and now I ahve rebuilt a 2001 Forester for my Son, whi is now a Canadian Forces Soldier who will be leaving for quiet some time at the end of the month. That being said I have a spare EJ25 block minus the heads, took it apart and found it to be in very good condition, he has informed me he would like a turbo engine that being said, what would be the best way to go about it? I was thinking on getting the lock bored out and some forged internals, but what heads would be compatible with the lock and a Garrett turbo? nipper
Hi! 2,5 block (engine) is engineered to the very edges of what it can do normally. You'll be better off starting off with a 2.2 as it is a stronger engine all around.
TOONGA
Make a stroker motor http://www.briancrower.com/makes/subaru/ej257b_stroker.shtml one example of the kits available. but they are not cheap as this ebay search shows http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_odkw=strokers+kit&ul_noapp=true&_fromfsb=0&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xsubaru+stroker++kit.TRS0&_nkw=subaru+stroker++kit&_sacat=0 good luck with it TOONGA
