Loyale replacement fuel pump

Recommended Posts

I've got a 91 loyale 5-speed and I've narrowed down my problems to being a disfunctional fuel pump.  I'm wondering if I can put an aftermarket inline pump on or if I should just bite the bullet and shell out $140 on a new one? Money is tight but I do want it to last a good while and be reliable because the car's my daily driver.

Thanks,

Bobby

Yes, but a couple of things to note.

The factory pump has a right angle exit line, most aftermarket pumps go exit straight.

Secondly, the factory pump has a filter screen on its inlet. A lot of other cars have this screen inside the tank, so you'll need to add a filter between the tank and the pump if you don't want it to die due to some debris
