If you do it you have to do it good and give rust hopefully no chance to come back.

So i hope to enjoy him for many years

Fantastic to see someone restoring the classic GSR... I'm indeed envious!
 
I owned a 74 GSR for a long time and have very fond memories of it... brilliant handling car and an engine that would rev until the cows came home.
 
Hopefully the pic of my 'old girl' will provide additional inspiration, but I don't think you need any more  :)
