ANTI SWAY BAR QUESTION

I know I've been asking a lot of 'off the wall' questions lately. Soo here's the next one. Has anyone lifted an Impreza Outback and not been able to reconnect the sway bar licks? Now even under full compression, the 'dog bones' will not line up with the ears on the lower control arms. Does someone have a solution other that cutting the tabs off and relocating them? Or heating up the swaybar and bending it?

By the way, I have a 'Roll Bar' welded into the unibody of the Brat to give it more rigidity. Back to the real question..... what if I used 2 heim joints (one male and one female) to replace the rubber 'dog bone'? I now have (at full compression) about 4.5 inches between the centerlines of the attaching bolts on the sway bar and the lower control arm.

Depending on the amount of lift you have, you might need to space down the anti roll bar mounts.Or just remove them, the bars limit travel offroad. Handling really isn't that bad without them, subarus have have such low center of gravities that they handle like old pickups once the sway bar is removed, still very predicable and easily rallied.A side benefit is they ride softer too.Removing the bar takes out roughly 200lb/in of suspension spring rate.
