Outback 2012

Recommended Posts

My 2012 outback with less than 80k miles always had oil consumption problems but when we asked the dealer about it they said it wasn't burning enough to warrant service. Subsequently the car threw a rod and blew up the engine on the freeway. The engine completely melted down and the mechanic said it was surprising that it didn't catch on fire. This was very upsetting to hear since we had a large oxygen bottle with us due to a medical emergency with my daughter who was with me in the car. Subaru has offered to pay for the repair but only if we but a new car. Not very inspiring. The class action lawsuit includes 2013 out backs but not 2012 even though we had the exact same problem. Anyone else had similar experience? Please let me know. Thanks
