Wont start after jacking drivers rear wheel?

Recommended Posts

Im thinking gremlins, becasue its fine now, its just strange that its fine i jack up one wheel and wont start without pushing the choke closed then its fine, the fuel lines all seem fine and theres good flow, i just hope it does'nt do it again when my wifes at work with it or something.

Think i found the culprit, even though the dizzy cap, rotor, plugs and wires are all new the rotor looked like it had about six years worth of corrosion on the contacts so i got to looking and the rubber seal at the top of the dizzy is all dried out cracked and a good third of it is missing, do you guys know if thats a part i can order or something im gonna have to make?

That seal is to help keep moisture out of the cap. Not a real need it item unless you're driving thru unplowed deep snow, as I attempted to do once.

Kept a can of wire dry spray in the BRAT after that.

The fact that it won't start unless the choke is held shut = a fuel delivery issue in the carb itself.

I would suspect the float, needle valve and seat being main issue(s).
