steve56 Posted April 23, 2016 Share Posted April 23, 2016 Having trouble getting the bottom 14mm nut removed that holdes on the starter. There is no access from the top of engine. From underneath the engine there doesnt seem to be enough room to get a socket and ratchet square with the bolt to be able to turn the ratchet. Ive tried a 14mm 3/8 wooble impact with Dewalt impact gun and nut still not loosening. Heated nut with torch also. The nut doesnt look corroded. It seems to be a problem with getting the right angle with wrench. Looking for solution. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Fairtax4me Posted April 23, 2016 Share Posted April 23, 2016 I've usually been able to get them from above with a 6" extension. If there is room a small breaker bar will usually crack it loose. Did have one that I had to go underneath with a 1/2" drive wobble impact adapter on and use a long 1/2" extension and breaker bar, but generally they're not that tight.
