81MV
Hi folksI need some advice!I've been building up a new front bumper (Gen 2 BRAT spec) for my GLF Hatch out of new old stock components (plastic bumper, overriders, internal steel beam etc.)Try as I might, I can't get the two long edges of internal steel beam to fit inside the upper & lower channels inside the plastic bumper - once I've got one side in, as soon as try the other, the first pops out! It's almost as if the two aren't designed to go together (but they are). Has anyone else ever experienced this - and is there a fix? Thanks Owain
dfoyl
I assume you mean the completely-wrapped later model plastic bumper ? Maybe it has shrunk over time and now doesn't fit over the metal frame ? Maybe take it to a paint shop or similar and put the plastic in their baking oven to make it more pliable, then quickly fit it to the metal inner frame ?
