Can't say about where in el paso,  but what you may want is a japanese take out motor. Low miles, relatively cheap. You swap all the externals over from your original motor.  If not that then another option is to go with a complete rebuilt longblock, from a reputable rebuilder like colorado component rebuilders (http://ccrengines.com/)  That will get you a motor that should last a good long time.  Craigs list for crashed cars or last choice would be a wrecking yard.

so this may be asking much but im new to the rebuild world and modding world im looking at 

JDM SUBARU IMPREZA WRX EJ20G ENGINE EJ20T MOTOR EJ20K TURBO DOHC 2.0 LITER LONG BLOCK JAPANESE DOHC USED 94 95 96 97 USED IMPORT 2.0L  from JDM and i dont know where i would figure out if its compatable or not

For 90-94 you have to swap your original intake manifold and crank/cam sensors to the new engine, as well.

 

If you want a subaru with a turbo, buy one that already has a turbo. If you want a car that works, just do a stock replacement.

The EJ20G is a very common swap at this point. The engines are cheap, but if you don't get the wiring harness and ECU with them, then your SOL or have to run a standalone ECU.. Being a long block without any of the stuff you need as per description, it simply won't work.

 

If you want a turbo. the Phase I MAF cars can be 'fooled' quite easy and a turbo ready EJ22D is an easy build since it's just an EJ22E block ( 1990-1996 or 1997/8 for a little more compression ) with EJ25D heads. puts the compression in the 8:1-8.5:1 range depending on block used. You won't find the info on this site but on NASIOC and RS25 ect. it's readily available

Seriously, don't get a JDM motor.  They may have low miles, but they have lots of hours on them.  Traffic in Japan is unreal and an engine with 25k miles on it is worn out.  Getting an engine to last 25k miles in Japan is the reason they last 200k over here.

lots of swap info at nasioc.com -  you can make any project work with enough time and money. H6 , diesel, supercharger, etc.

 

but, it could actually be easier - and maybe not much more expensive, to get 2 wrecked WRXes, one wrecked in the front, one wrecked in the rear, build one good car and sell any usable leftover parts.

 

Or just carefully shop for a WRX that hasn't been abused.You get matching final drive ratios, a wiring harness that works with the ECU, dash and rest of the car, a transmission and drivetrain built for the power, less worn-out and fatigued rubber parts, the ability to tune the ECU for power, lots of aftermarket suspension and other go-fast bits. (I'd probably recommend an 06 or 07, but almost any of them are gonna be a much easier and maybe not much more expensive than the swap.)
