Poor quality timing belts and components, DON'T BUY THEM

Recommended Posts

... ISO-9000 certified by European auditors are OK ...

Allow me to go off-topic here, but very kindly let me tell you that you can have an ISO:9000 certification, and still build Junk parts; because the ISO:9000 standard is certifying the Quality of the PROCESS itself, Not the quality of the resulting product. I am a trained ISO:9000 auditor, my previous job required that in order to keep their certification.

Back on topic, the mere Timing Belts sold locally by the "Gates" distributor, says GATES "Made in USA" but they do not sell Timing Kits Locally, only Belts, Timing Belts and Hoses. Today I purchased a T210 Gates timing belt for a 2.3L Ford Ranger, rebadged as Mazda B2300, it says "Made in USA" on the timing belt itself. I hope to never see a "Made in China" Gates belt, because then, it will not be a true Gates anymore.

Kind Regards.

yep - It creates a documented way to maintain consistency so, if you make a bad product, it will stay bad, in the same manner, everytime it's produced!
