feelinminnesota
I plan on going 6 lug and hoping no lift in my 82 brat. I'm thinking I may have to trim the fenders and would really like to add some flares. What vehicles have you guys found work the best? I'd like to not cover my rear bed steps and not cut the bottom of the front femders
subarubrat
Your goals are going to conflict. If you want flares though the mid 80's Toyota aftermarket ones fit well. These pics are of what I did, should explain it all: http://subarubrat.com/flares.htm
feelinminnesota
Thanks, I like the look, mine would be more of a daly driver/hunting and fishing vehicle. no need for me to go quite so big. I have a set of 6 bolt Toyota wheels already, I'll have to do some searching to see if they will work with no cutting
dfoyl
I briefly fitted some 15" Ford Courier 6-lugs to my Brumby a few years ago, which *just* fitted with low profile tyres and no lift. They didn't quite need fender flares or trimming, but if I had gone to wider tyres to suit I would have needed some flares (legally) (and definitely some trimming). I have also fitted Mitsubishi Pajero (Montero Sport I believe is the US name) 6-lugs, which were a wider (and much much heavier) rim - I think 7" wide - and they also fitted fine. subarubrat
If your going with smaller tires, then like the other guy said you probably won't need flares. On my current 82 Brat I have about a 2 in lift and 14's with 27 in tires and no need for flares.
