RoBoKeRt
Hey guys/gals I'm new to the Subaru world and I wanna build my waggon properly. I don't wanna lift it and thrash it, I want to start from the ground up finishing with the engine to build a fun driver/ "sleeper" so to speak. I would love to pick some of your brains as I'm new to the tuner world. Any advice is greatly appreciated and as always, drive safe. Thank you Rob
crazyhorse001
An ej "frankenmotor" swap is a hot setup. Stays under the hood, and with no turbo, under the radar
turbosubarubrat
Do you want fwd, rwd, or awd? N/a or turbo? Lots of options to go off of once we get a idea of how you want it setup.
sparkyboy
i just completed an ej22 swap for my chicks 86 gl. The car is pretty quick now. it can keep pace with my brothers bmw and is faster than my camaro in a drag race!
RoBoKeRt
Turbo would be cool. By doing such do I have to loose my 4wd option while retaining FWD? Or is changing the drive terrain optional
turbosubarubrat
The turbo engines i'm thinking of would kill the 4 speed d/r's instantly and the 5 speed d/r's fairly quickly if you got on it. Best option would be using a ej awd transmission. The built frankenmotors even kill the 5 speed d/r's if you get on them since they have triple the factory horsepower compared to a ea81. Your best option to retain at least a 5 speed d/r with a turbo would be a ej22t which is getting hard to find.
