Hamsamsquanch Posted February 7, 2017 Share Posted February 7, 2017 Hey all, I have been a lurker for a while and I finally got myself a Loyale that I am going to be swapping and doing extensive modifications to. Ive had a couple 70's Chevrolet trucks that I kept up with for a while but decided to get more into the wagon game. Already have had my 09 impreza for 4 years and have done tons of wrenching on it (no crazy mods, just repairs and maintenance), so an older 4X4 subie felt like a good fit for me. Picked up the car 2 weeks ago for $250. It runs, drives, has a clean title and only 160,000 miles. Previous owner installed the battery backwards and assumed it was all fried. I replaced a fusible link and she started right up! So this will be my project car. The plan is 2" suspension lift, 1.5" body lift and an EJ swap. Tons of other stuff planned, but that will be put into detail in a build thread once weather warms up and the massive puddle leaves the front half of my barn. Havent found any rust that isnt just fenders. When I dropped the trans fluid it was just bubbles and goop, so I'll be doing the rear diff soon. Been filling up a spreadsheet with data on what is all going into this car. Not recording time spent wrenching because that would probably depress me haha. Chewy_719 Posted February 13, 2017 Share Posted February 13, 2017 I got my 92 Loyale about a year ago for $600, needed some work but nothing bad. Just picked up a Hi/Lo D/R tranny for my wagon. It was pure luck that i found it got it for $100. I'm getting small things here and there for my build. 4" body lift and hopefully figure out how the suspension lift.
