REVIVING AN OLD FRIEND

Recommended Posts

This GL coupe, 1 of a kind SCC that was introduced in 1980, had seen better days and tossed around like a rag doll within the family.  But when the heads went bad, it was time time to scrap it or rewrap it back to life.  I guess it means too much to me so im back in for the rebuild.  but in looking for a little kick in the gas, Ive restarted by acquiring an EA 81 motor and now needs a matching Ea81 tranny to replace the Ea71 front wheel drive it came with.  I understand there are slight positional modifications and will listen to all suggestions.  but first i need the tranny.  Anyone out there that knows of one laying around, working or able to be reconditioned, let me know.   Thanks for the assist.  # 67 of the 100 will be glad to hear from you.   Anyone else ever had one of the 100?

My friend in high school had one and that is how I feel in love with the Subaru's. Of course, my first one was a 84 GL wagon. My friend had it until he hit a telephone with and killed it. It will be a cool build. Any wagon or making it a 5 speed would be cool too. Plus, it would be easier to find a 5 speed.
