Removing EJ20 immobiliser

Hello all,

I have an EJ20 fitted to the rear of a cruising hovercraft that will be doing quite a few miles on the sea inshore. Currently the ignition key chip is attached to the receiver permanently to allow another key on the dash to start the engine.

Is it possible to completely remove the chip, receiver and amplifier on this set up, eg reset the immobiliser chip to always allow the engine to start without the transponder chip etc. I'm trying to eliminate as many fail possibilities as possible and reduce the  number of spares I need to carry.

It's a 1999 legacy system that uses the flashing led to show fault codes.

Thanks in advance

Steve
