trainergames
When the AC system is out of refrigerant does the AC compressor still come on? I am asking because my AC quit working a few months ago,and i first i thought it was just ran out of refrigerant, but i noticed that the compressor no longer turns on when i turn the AC on. Is that normal? Or does it mean my compressor is bad since i don't hear it any more? I am asking because i don't want to spend the money to try to refill it if it was not going to work. Mike104
If the system is low on refrigerant the compressor will not start. You can check out the compressor by briefly jumping the pressure switch cannon plug then selecting the system ON. If the compressor runs then its working. 1 Lucky Texan
99% of the time, the system's low pressure switch is just protecting the components from low refrigerant levels. info here;http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums/99-do-yourself-illustrated-guides/43428-diy-c-air-conditioning-leak-refrigerant-repair-5-less-15-minutes-less.html
