2001 Forester with bad strut tower

Recommended Posts

Saw an ad for a 2001 forester with an issue.  I don't know if this is a common thing.

Hard fix?

it says it's automatic,  drive train is all good.

Driver side Rear strut tower is bad.     Rear tire is leaning.

Is this common?  Is there a kit?

I'm guessing it's rusted bad.  Salt on roads.

Any help is appreciated.  Yes I know you could tell me more with a picture, I haven't seen it first hand myself yet.  I'm just gauging whether its worth it.   133k miles,   Asking $700

May be possible to cut offending part or section of from pull and pay yard and weld in, but again depends on how bad the area is rusted

They sent me pictures on Facebook. I cant post them here   idk...

anyway,, the rust isn't around the top,, you can see the metal split inside the wheel well behind the strut..    and inside the car they have the carpet panel pulled back and it seems to be coming apart there too.  But not the strut cap area.
