Led lights in map lights..disaster.

I put an LED 31mm bulb into one of the maps lights. It didn't work.  Nothing worked.  The other map light, the dome light and the cargo light, don't work .  Replaced the LED with the OEM bulb.  Still nothing works.  The keyless fob doesn't work.  I can't unlock the car.

None of the charts I could download show me where the fuse might be.  HELP!

"the fuse for the map lights is #8 in the engine compartment fuse box.

It's a 20 Amp fuse that supplies "always on" power to the map lights,
the Body Integrated Unit, the keyless entry ("central locking"), the
ceiling lights, the radio memory (presets), and the clock. So if the
fuse is blown, there should be other lights and functions not working."

Thanks.  Now I have to figure out how to open the hood.

I was too gentle with the key.  It needs a quick snap clockwise.  I was doing it slowly and that didn't work.  Some one from the serves desk came over to my house to help me out.  So we got the doors open.  We checked for burned out fuses but could not find on.  So, I had to go to the dealers. They said it may take hours to fix.  I called for a ride back home.  As my ride drove into the dealers, the serves clerk came running out to tell me it's fixed.  And yes, it was a burned out fuse that we could not see on first inspection.  All is well.  It's a wasted day if you don't learn anything and this was not one of those days.
