Fuel pressure 1984 1.8 turbo

The drive gear is on the crankshaft,not the cam.

 

At this point,I would remove the crank seal to look at the drive gear and disty gear.

Sounds like you will need to do that anyway.

Be gentle on the crank gear.They are NLA new.
