Denver or Bust, moving end of the month, trip this weekend to look for housing & Job.

Recommended Posts

Many of you know that I am going to move to Denver just shy of August 1st. In preparation I am going to drive over to Denver Saturday Morning and get there Saturday evening (7/10/04) and then return Tuesday afternoon/evening.

If anybody currently living in Denver would be up to meeting up and showing me and my girlfriend the in's and outs of the city, meet up to grab a bite to eat, etc, that would be great.

We will be looking for employment and a rental property on this trip so if you have any leads or tips please share. :)

If you don't mind helping unload a moving truck around July 30th-Aug 1 or so that would also be extremely helpful! Some extra hands to help with a washer/dryer, long sectional couch, and a bed would be fantastic. Can pay in pizza and beer/pop/etc for the help! :)

I have to be back in Iowa on Wednesday morning.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

A little nuts, indeed.

Situation involves a divorce for both me and my girlfriend and wanting to get out of Iowa. A fresh start in a new but somewhat familiar city was the choice.

I have a part time job I will love.

hi shawn,

i'm an hour nothwest of denver, and i generally stay away from denver aside from baseball games and junkyards, but if there's anything i can do lemme know.

what's with the iowa migration? eyesore then you. nobody is actually from colorado. i moved here 15 years ago from the east coast. eveybody here wants the door to closed right behind them. the truth is there's not enough water here to support the population. usually we complane about californians and m*******s. now maybe iowa folk? actually i wish you the best in finding good digs and decsent jobs. i may be able to help you unload the truck, just touch base closer to d-day.

i know the state vey well. i've been fishing and wheeling all over. once your settled and ready for fun, i can be a better asset.

We now have a place to live in Arvada. Now we just need to find jobs. Let me know if you have any leads in MIS/IT or evening jobs part time that I can do while I job search.

Help unloading the truck would truly be appreciated on the 31st and 1st.

Thanks Everyone!

Shawn i used to live in a small town North of Denver, Firestone. Grew from 200 people when I lived there to 1,000's. Anyhow, I'm sure you will like it out there. My sister has a VET clinic in Westminster. I go there a few times a year. If you have a pet I can recomend her services to you.

When I lived there I wished people would stop moving to Colorado. But, those thought aside, good luck and best wishes. You picked a nice spot.

We had a great visit...and we made some progress on Diamond...the wagon will soon be back on the road. Denver isn't so bad as long as you remember one thing..."Patience is a virture"...crowded with lots of traffic...plus legally concealed weapons...keep your cool...HAHA!! With cop shootings and meth labs burning down put aside...Denver is rather calm...what a lie..eh? Here is a job tip...do what I do...deliver newspapers...my route is exceptional and pays better than most...but you can always find one that will pay you descent and it only takes a couple hours of your late nights/early mornings to do it. All you need is a license...proof of insurance...and the will to wake up every day and get the job done on time...just sign on the dotted line. By the way...you mentioned you have an alternator with an internal VR...would that fit the mounting bracket in my wagon without any major customization? Anyhow...just wanted to throw my three cents in. Take care...Xenongod
