rrgh. sunroof won't open.. it slides about a half inch and stops, motor still going. I've even changed the motor with a known good one. does the same thing. I doubt it's electrical as I can't assist the motor by pushing the glass. it feels like it's stuck.

Can I reach whatever is the likely cause to fix this if I just unbolt the glass? Or am I pulling my headliner to fix this? don't really want to..

I have a couple projects to get ready for if I am, though :D

you could start by taking the glass out and having a look around.. only takes about ten minutes to get the glass out.

Might just need lubrication

hmmm did you change the GLASS or the entire assembly?? If it still doesnt work after the entire assembly is swapped then maybe something from the roof area is hanging down or something is binding up, or the assembly is tweaked or something? <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":\">

Hi Mark.. I've tried assisting it in several different directions in varying degrees of gently :P no luck, it just stops

Hi JC.. I have one of those but I'm going to put it in the back instead as I think the stock one is too dim. And it doesn't have sunroof controls.. thanks though

Hi Caleb.. I don't think it's a lubrication issue as the motion just stops.. I can try it but I think it's pretty clean..

Hi Mike.. I just changed the motor itself from the one i saved from my old wagon.

does this draw power from a relay somewhere?

Well if you want the ENTIRE assembly (had cracked glass, you gotta change that) you can have my old one. Its at andrews house right now, but if you are ever in the area (portland, albany or the dalles) its yours.

I caught a rock in one of my runners during a 4X4 outing, drove me nuts trying to figure it out. Think I had to "feel" around for it. Tim

Try cranking it open by hand, if it doesn't crank open by hand either, you might have a mechanism issue, like a missing gear tooth or something.
