96 Legacy LSI 2.5 Throbbing & Hum

Recommended Posts

Two problems I need some opinions on:

1. Let the engine warm up, drive for a while and any speeds 65mph + cause the car to throb, in a front to back motion, but the RPM gauge stays steady. Any ideas what this could be? Center Differential? Tranny?

2. When accelerating at higher speeds or even say at 30mph to pass vehicles (happens with less load at higher speeds) I get a hum that increases in intensity as I depress the accelerator. Could this be an alignment issue? Tranny issue?

If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. Bought this car last 06/28/03. Paid $6600 form dealer. Now has 88.3K miles. I think I got hosed. If this is a major headache I'm going to dump the car.

Already had front motor seal, valve cover gaskets, cam seals, water pump, timing belt done, and tuneup. $1,300. Oh yeah and both CATs went another $540.
