And there went another FI!

Recommended Posts

I don't know how to tell you guys. Just two weeks ago, my Fuel Injector #3 went bad. Thanks to ColoroSubie, he sent me two FIs! For some reason, he knew one of my other FIs would be going out as well! True to his superb future telling mind, my other Fuel Injector went out yesterday while I was driving in Mason City, Iowa. I was cruising highway 18 heading West, about ten miles to Mason City, my vehicle began to shake and the Check Engine came on. I was so afraid it was something else and I would have to walk the highway for miles/hours to get help.

Fortunately, it was shaking alot and lost a little juice, but I was able to reach the city before stopping by a gas station to check it out. I suspected it was another FI and true to my suspicion, it was! It was FI #1 this time. No worry, I told myself. I was able to drive home and this morning, I replaced the dead FI and everything is fine again.

The Check Engine light still remains even though I disconnected the battery cable for ten minutes. Not sure if there is something else went bad after that long drive home (about 150 miles).

Just couple questions: Do they go out one after another in short time like that or was it just a rare case in my situation? I hope my other two FIs won't go out within the next four weeks! That will be something!!! Then I have to call ColoraSubie again for his remaining two FIs! You hear me, ColoraSubie? I may need your help again...

What kind of car are you driving? Our 01 OBW has had three FIs replaced! First at 35K #1 and #3 went out. they were replaced under warranty at White Bear Acura Subaru. At 65K #3 went out again! We've called SOA and they claim this is normal wear and tear. Somebody get me a gun. I told them if this is normal you can count on never selling me another automobile...ever. I asked for some goodwill and they've given me nothing but run around. I hate this car. Why is it the 92 and 98 have never so much as blinked...oh yeah pre GM and pre 2.5.

I only have one left and I get the feeling I might be needing it soon. My check engine light is on but I am just too lazy to check it. We just got out power back today. Stupid Hurricane!!

Hope all is well with everyone. Say a prayer for those in the way of the Hurricane that is out there now. They are going to need it.
