DiscoStu
I was looking under the steering column of my 99 Legacy Outback Wagon (Auto Trans 2.5) to see if I could see something wrong with my brake switch to solve my problem of the Shift Lock not releasing when in Park (see earlier post today). I spotted 2 wires that each have a Green connector (1 male and 1 female). The wires are not connected. One wire is black with 2 red stripes and white spots, the other is a sky blue with maybe a green stripe and white spots. Is this something the mechanics forgot to hook back up when they worked on it? Are they supposed to be NOT connected? Does anyone know what they are for? Could they have to do with my not being able to shift out of Park when it's cold? Thanks
canajun2eh
These connectors are NOT supposed to be connected. They're used to put the engine control computer into a special "test" mode for setting ignition timing, etc.
