brus brother Posted October 2, 2004 Share Posted October 2, 2004 93 Legacy L MT The linkage outside the engine from the clutch has an annoying tweet. If I hold the fork steady where the adjusting nut is attached, or if I slightly press on the clutch, the sound stops. The car sat for nearly 6 months before I got it and I'm hoping that spraying some "tweet no more" will remedy it. There is a bunch of rubber boots and rods in the linkage and I'm not sure what to spray. This is my first foray into the land of manual transmission/clutch so I am a stranger in a strange land to anything other than repairs that entail tapping gently with the heel of my shoe. canajun2eh Posted October 2, 2004 Share Posted October 2, 2004 My 92 Legacy did that for a long time. It turned out to be the clutch release bearing. lmdew Posted October 2, 2004 Share Posted October 2, 2004 The fork is lubed with grease at the back piviot and the contact points with the T/O Bearing. Using spray may wash away what grease is there.
