Definition of "Newer Generation"

Could someone please define of "Newer Generation" for me?

I have just purchased a 2003 Legacy, and am afraid that it is *too* new for this forum.

new generation refers to anthing of the legacy series (legacy, impreza, outback, forester, baja) I think they throw the svx in there too.
