84 GL engine swap

Is it possible to swap my engine with an ea82t without replacing the transmission? I have a 4 spd manual dual range AWD.

Yes, you will need to use the EA82 flywheel and pressure plate also. But kiss your tranny byebye. I'm not saying it couldnt handle it(well, maybe just a little), but your 4spd is a older tranny with (probably) lots of miles on it. And with the turbo in it, its just going to fry clutches. Not to mention putting a EA82T in a EA81 is a ryoal PITA to boot. Do you have any idea of what it takes to do this conversion?
