I just bought a '99 Outback. Need a repair manual before I try to tackle new engine seals. Sounds like Haynes is best. Can't find it. Question is, Will the '98 Haynes Outback manual work for me?

My guess is that it will cover most things for you ok but I san't say for sure. Keep an eye out on Ebay for factory manuals, you may find a good deal on one there.

I have a '99 and used the Haynes for the 98 to replace timing belt, oil seals, camshaft seals and a lot more. No problems for me. I think the 98 and 99 are just about the same.
