Is there some place that I can get a list of the meanings of the Vin. numbers and letters. I'm looking at subarus listed in a auction. Need to know what the Vin. number says about each car so I know if it is worth going and looking at it or not.

If it is 4x4, what tranny it has, what engine type, and other stuff like that.

Thanks Chris

For starters, a Chilton's or a Haynes manual give some of the codes. There my be better ones, but I don't have one. Tom

Check out UltimateRX's site. He has a VIN decoder.
