mcbrat Posted November 5, 2004 Share Posted November 5, 2004 question: been looking at on-line part sites. have found one place that show the ea81 and ea82's using the same heater core, then found another that showed it changed on 1/87 to a different part. anybody know for sure? looks like I'll be ripping the dash out for this one... thealleyboy Posted November 6, 2004 Share Posted November 6, 2004 I inspected all three cores I have, and they are identical. Couldn't find any part #'s though... Unless my 2 87's were manufactured before 1/87, I would say you are ok. Remember, the inlet/outlet tubes can be modified slightly. Also the stampings on the core frame on mine are different. mcbrat Posted November 17, 2004 Author Share Posted November 17, 2004 man what a pain in the you know what! I got a core from John, and had it checked out. it's good. I got the old core out last night. it did not appear that the core had been leaking, but possibly just at the hose connection.... BUT it needed to come out anyway. the top of the core was covered in pine needles, and they were lodged into the fins as well..... tonight maybe I will start the re-assembly.....
