Whats the largest OD tire I can run on my 87 GL wagon without causing to many problems? Only off road it sees is gravel once in a while. Winter isn't to far away and I would like to get a little more ground clearance. (Can't afford a lift kit)

Thanks guys

with the stock 13" wheel, the tallest tire you can get for it is a 185/80. sometimes hard to find, but they are out there... I got some in a Kelly-Springfield tire last year....

On 13" rims I think 185/80/13 is the tallest tyre available. There nor to bad, but still not the same as a 26"/14 on Pugs. Later, Tim

Too wide for the 5J rims, I use 185/60R13 and they barely fit and already look funny. They are better than stock 185/70R13 though, because the allow more rpm in top gear due to the shorter overall gearing with the flatter tires.

Next month I'll order a set of 185/55R14 to go on my 14x6J rims.

i was looking at some OZ wheels....found the Superturismo Corsa wheels, and i found some Michilen 225/45/R16 Pilot Sports to go with it. The OZ's are availbe in 16, 17 and 18 inch versions, 4 and 5 lug i think. the pic showed 4 lug though.

What do ya think about that?

yes they do make 4 lug and what they call uni-lug wheels (4 or 5 lug). but these can't be used on any DL, Gl, Gl-10 or Loyale because the width between each wheel stud is very large. The only wheels that fit is Pugoet.
