About a year ago I replaced my 5 speed (bad bearing-woudnt stay in 4th) with a newer, clean, low mileage junkyard tranny. Now it seems to have a bad bearing also. It makes noise in neutral and in 1st gear with less noise in the rest of the gears(input shaft bearing?- noise goes away with clutch disengaged) -Are these trannys that weak ? I have fixed a 4speed corvette tranny before- but it sounds like a pain to set up the diff on the awd gearbox-any suggestions/comments. I drive it fast on long road trips but not abusive.

thanks
