subekit
My 99 Legacy Wagon's Rpms Jump Slightly And Only For A Second.. In First Gear....only After A Start When The Car Has Been Sitting And Engine Is Basically Cold..like In The Morning . I Check Trans Fluid Every Week And It's Perfect And Clean And At The Right Level..no Leaks. Is This A Case Of Just Not Letting The Car Warm Up Long Enough ? Probably A Dumb Question... Thanks S
tcspeer
I think its common I have had a few cars do that on cold morning. Problary something to do with fluid getting to the right places in transmission.
Gnuman
OK, what is this "Dumb Question" I keep hearing people refer to? I'm not sure there is such an animal. . . As for the tranny question, is this an auto? If so, one possable answer is that the filter is old and clogged. When was the last time the filter was changed? Clean fluid does not always mean the filter is in perfect shape. It may be just clogged enough to slow down the fluid when the tranny is cold, like those cold mornings you mentioned. My $.02. . . JohnnyB
Yes, I believe it is from not letting the car warm up enough, I have noticed this too on my 96GT since new. Does not happen when the engine is warmed up and at it's normal idle speed.
