Guest Newsance
Ok, I have a vintage 1985 deck in my wagon. It's been a long time since I have seen an analog tuner in a car, and I dig that, but the cassette is broken. I have a Sony xplode deck sitting around that I would like to swap in. It's a standard DIN style. Will this work? Where should I look to get an adaptor to fit the deck in the dash? Any other issues?
Guest Wagon Wagon
Get a dash adapter at a stereo shop, Metra is the company that makes it. Also get the mounting brackets off an 88-94 GL/DL/Loyale, they will allow for a standard DIN size radio to be mounted in the center. I'll warn you though, this car has a very shallow mounting bay. Most modern stereos will BARELY fit inside with the Metra adapter, but some will sill stick out.
Guest cole098
Why not just keep that analog radio... and a small amp to the speaker outputs of the radio and istall a hidden cd changer that plays the cd's over the FM band... That way you could still keep the factory look....
