Anyone lifted their Baja or Outback?

Recommended Posts

I have an 03 Baja I want to lift a couple inches. Has anyone used the suspension lift springs from Scorpion? How did they work out? Any problems? What is your feedback on them.

Also, are there any other ways to go other than Scorpion?

Thanks,

Perry

 I used the Scorpion springs on my 97 OBW. They give about one and a half inches of lift. I think the handling is better, but I did upgrade the struts to KYB GR-2's at the same time. The ride didn't become to harsh, just felt tighter. Like a newer car maybe. So far I've probably put over 20K miles on it since with no issues that I've noticed. I ran 205-75-15 tires for one year, but I've gone to 215-70-15's for better on road handling. There's been no clearance issues with either size though. Good luck with your Baja. If you search this forum there's one or more folks who make other lifts for these cars.

Thanks for the info. That is just what I wanted to know. Just one more thing, do the GR-2s give you more down travel, or are they the same as stock?

Personally, I think I want to stay with just a spring lift for now. The other kits are much more work, from what I gather. I guess Scorpion is the only show in town for that. Another company King Springs said they don't make springs for the Baja. Too bad.

Thanks again.

:) The GR-2's are supposed to be the "Stock" replacements, so I would guess they're the same length and would give up a little on the extension. I have not had any problems at all with handling and even on trails that probably are a bit more than the Outback should be asked to handle, I've never wound up with one or more tires in the air. Hope it works as well for you.
