bearbalu Posted December 17, 2004 Share Posted December 17, 2004 I punched a 1 inch hole in front outside timing cover while trying to remove crank pulley (using PB blaster later made it much easier!) Is epoxing back the plastic okay ? Or should I get a new cover (30 odd bucks). Since the hole is right near crank pulley, would epoxy come loose over time....I guess dirt won't be a good idea inside timing belt... 99obw Posted December 17, 2004 Share Posted December 17, 2004 It should be worth a try. I would use the epoxy putty. Rough up the surface first with some rough sandpaper. cookie Posted December 17, 2004 Share Posted December 17, 2004 engines into his race cars and people were Epoxying oil pump pickups in I made a Pontiac oil filter for my Norton with Epoxied in fittings. mattocs Posted December 19, 2004 Share Posted December 19, 2004 The Dealer broke the t-belt cover where the bolts go in on my 95 Legacy...they used a black rubber like glue it looks like.
