The Weber should work fine, assuming - like Turbone said, that the brat had a hitachi (very likely - never seen an 83 with the carter). Caboobaroo Posted August 20, 2003 Share Posted August 20, 2003 I had an 83 hatchback 2WD that had a Carter on it.......I'm glad I got rid of that carb AND the car. It was more headaches than it was worth. If you've ever seen the inside of a Carter, there's a little hose that goes from the accellerator pump to the spray nozzle inside the barrel. Mine got a hole in it and it didn't like being cold or revving up to fast. I had to go to a hobby store and get the smallest airplane fuel hose that they had.
