New User Where Is My Horn???

Recommended Posts

Greetings from a new user. I have used a similar site regarding my truck and have found a treasure house of information and ideas. It looks like the same experience awaits here. -Down to business- I am the owner of a '03 Forester (well my wife is actually). Wife is tickled with it except for "the wimpiest horn I've ever heard". I gave her a set of electric air horns for Christmas. Installation was easy except that I need to tap into the factory horn wire. Would somebody please tell me where they hid it and how to get to it?? From the sound, the horn seems to be tucked somewhere inside the front left fender with no access. Thanks; Vogt

check in front of the radiator. Our 01 OBW's is there. There are 2 horns, they are kinda small and flat... Not a standard looking horn (trumpet looking)

Wimpy horn ?? My wife's uncle HAD to have 2 after he heard ours... 1 of his Jeep Wrangler and 1 for his HOG... :burnout:

He loved it because it says "Jeep Jeep"

Maybe the forester's is different...

Subaru used to mount both of them in front of the battery. Where they only make any usable noise under the hood.

My Impreza had one left behind there too, but the other was moved onto a special bracket that puts it just behind the radiator grille.

Even so, I have a set of Fiamm AM100 "Highway Blaster" horns that have followed me from car to car. They deliver 132dB of thunder!

I have nestled them just in front of my radiator, but behind the legally required front number plate. That way they blow almost straight out the front of the car, but are protected from rain.
