Into your cylinders? Thats ok, maybe the problem was that it slipped past your piston rings??

I am sure Durablend will be fine. Stick to the correct intervals.

It's true. Synthetic or part-synthetic oils are "slipperier" because of smaller molecular structure of synthetics....thus, it slips past piston rings (and seals, and gaskets) more easily than conventional oil....

Using a blend in a car with 38k on it should be ok. Synthetic oils used in older engines tend to actually clean out the works thus exposing weeknesses in gaskets and rings. You shouldn't have any problems using a blend or a full sythentic. The real rule of thumb is to change your oil with filter every 3000 to 5000 miles...
