Skip Posted January 24, 2005 Share Posted January 24, 2005 Ah Glen, the EJ 22 is a bit different than what you are used to I believe. The T-stat is under a goose neck that is on the block on the end of the lower (not upper) radiator hose. I'm afraid most of the system will need drained. Catch it and filter it through a clean cloth when putting it back in. Follow the burping proceedure of having the front higher than the rear, using the upper rad hose as a fill point, there is an excellent post by Setright on this method. bearbalu Posted January 24, 2005 Share Posted January 24, 2005 They system can be drained directly at Thermostat housing by putting a big aluminum trey and undoing thermostat bolts. I haven't worked on the newer models yet, so I am unaware of changes that were made. I guess I better stick with info I know is correct before I pass out advice. Cougar Posted January 24, 2005 Share Posted January 24, 2005 Since you state that windows are fogging up and if you smell something like coolant then it sounds like there is a leak in the heater core I'm sorry to say. You will have to replace it probably. Not an easy job. You may want to have a pro look things over. Hopefully you don't have a head gasket leak also. I take it by your comment that the heater core is not a fun thing to replace.
