ea82 springs on ea81 struts

I'm not finding much on the search, not putting the right combo of words in the search field probably . But my front springs are pretty well shot... you lean on the fender and the car drops a few inches, actually, it doesnt feel very much like springs up there, I think someone took them out and stuffed a few sponges in there instead :P
seriously though, the springs on the ea82 feel good though, are they the same diameter, similar length? can I swap them? I know the struts are different and I cant swap those,but can I do the springs, or am I better off trying to trade the ea82 springs for ea81's?

Someone had commented that one could simply change the strut top and use the rest of the EA82 set up.
