baboonia
I know someone with a dying AWD auto tranny on a 1991 Legacy. I have a 2WD auto tranny from another 1991 legacy. The other person doesn't need AWD. Will my 2WD tranny fit his car? Is there anything special to do in order to make the swap and make his car a 2WD Subaru ? (other than "don't put the driveshaft back in") One more thing, his car is Right Hand Drive (postal vehicle) but it is a US model.
Legacy777
If you do that....it's probably going to play hell with the TCU since the TCU will be looking for AWD stuff. I suppose you could give it a try and see how it works out.
coloradosubarules
I wouldn't imagine there would be a difference in the EAT's besides the AWD and non-AWD. Just look at it and see if anything looks different? Same engine? Same bolt locations? Linkage in the same spot??? Give it a try. Check the TCU's and see if they are the same as far as wire harness are concerned. Maybe you can sawp them? If you are trying to go AWD I do believe there are a few more sensors and selenoids to throw in the mix. Correct me if I am wrong.
