Have the 94 Legacy SW with 145000 miles ,non-air assist strut. does the good olde 220 lb(ok 99.78 Kg if you only read metric) guy jumping on/off the bumper test apply ? Or do they need to be replaced no matter what? The car was never abused or driven offroad (until I got it a month ago ).... Beaudiggity Posted February 7, 2005 Share Posted February 7, 2005 The jumping on the bumper works if your trying to diagnose a simple strut. When you bounce on the bumper and let go it should only bounce momentarily then stop. If not your struts are bad. A good way to tell also is in cornering. How bad does it lean to one side in a tight corner? What about when you hit those little waves in the road that seem to be everywhere.
